Overall, my experience with Gunderson transport was unpleasant. I called after the original delivery window to check on the car (I understand that there can be delays) and I was given an updated estimate on when the car would be here, only four days later... not bad. Four days later came and went and my calls that evening went unanswered. I called the next day and I was informed that the truck had broken down and they should have the car to me by the next afternoon, no problem. Again the next afternoon came and went... still, no big deal, these things happen. They did get ahold of me the next day to let me know that they had to have the truck towed and that they would put my car on a smaller trailer in Salem, Ore where the company is based and that the car would be brought the rest of the way on the following morning (today, Monday, March 6th, `06 ). The car arrived this afternoon on a U-haul car dolly with which it was towed from Salem, Ore. to Kennewick, WA (258 miles of interstate). Aside from the small paint chips and scratches (some were already there)... There were about 800 more miles on the car than what was shown in the odometer picture before it left the dealership, there was a heavy coating of a metallic powder / dust /flakes covering the entire engine bay and the shifter (automatic trans.) would not move (required about an hour and a half disassembly/reassembly). The driver was very friendly and seemed like a good guy, that was the first time I had contact with him other than through somebody else at Gunderson. All in all everybody was pleasant on the phone but their guesstimations on the arrival cost me alot of time (took three vacation days off of work) that I could have been working or visiting my family instead of waiting around the front door 24 hours a day. I am sure that if they hadn't had problems with thier truck my experience would have been much better, that said, I did get a good deal on the shipping at $900 but I did have a quote for $930 that included a guaranteed delivery date (it was later than Gunderson's delivery window but before Gunderson's actual delivery time (five days) ). I would not consider using Gunderson transport for future needs but I am sure if they hadn't had bad luck with thier equipment I might have felt differently.
