My story:
I recently purchased a car in the New York area and needed it transported to my home in Meridian, ID. I was in negotiations with a company called 1-Shot Express for about a week but they were currently unable to transport my car with the $1200 I was willing to pay. I was contacted by a different company, Showtime Auto Transport, and they sent me an email that stated “The all inclusive price to ship your 2009 Lexus IS 250 on Open carrier from Brooklyn,NY to Meridian ,ID is 1,200. Your all inclusive price includes taxes, tolls and insurance.”. I was very excited that they would be able to transport my vehicle. I talked to Jason at Showtime and he promised me multiple times a truck was in the area and he could have it shipped by the end of the week. This was January 19th when I first talked to him. I also notified him I was signed with 1-Shot Express and he assured me he could move my vehicle and not to worry about being signed up previously with a different company. He told me to fill out the form online and provide my credit card which I did. Jason never called me back again. I called Jason to determine if indeed the vehicle did get picked up. On around my 5th try he said the vehicle didn’t get picked up and he didn’t know when another truck would be in. In the meantime, I was in negotiations still with 1-Shot Express. I was able to get the vehicle moved with 1-Shot Express for the requested $1200 but it was to Spokane, not Boise. I decided to take that option and fly there and drive it back. I contacted Jason at Showtime and asked him to refund my money. He denied. He told me to read the fine print on the contract. The fine print in the contract totally contradicts the email and the verbal promises by Jason. Showtime Auto Transport blatantly lied about their services in the email promising they could move my car for $1200. Also, Jason lied about multiple times to me over the phone promising there was a truck available to pick my vehicle up just to get me to sign the contract and pay them $150. READ THE CONTRACT!! DON'T DO WHAT I DID!! I assumed a company's word was good. Their email and their verbal lies contradict what was in the fine print of the contract. Knowing Jason, he will probably write something up making me look like a liar instead. This is not an honest company. I am sending the email Jason sent me along with the fine print on the contract to the Florida State Attorney General's office. I will let them determine if there is fraud.
