Chris Spencer guided me through the process of shipping a car as the agent for Safe-Direct. I compared the pricing with that of other agents on this website and found their pricing to be competitive. From what I understand, agents like Chris bid with many carriers for the job. You pay their share once they assign a carrier to the vehicle, and then you pay the carrier at an agreed upon rate. The trick of finding the appropriate carrier on the date requested might mean that you will only get it assigned close to the target date. Though I was nervous about the assignment of the car to a carrier only a few days prior to the target ship date, it worked out well. The carrier, Lucas, who was with Arizona Auto Shippers turned out to be very good to work with. The only problem from my standpoint is that the pickup and delivery happened after 9 or 10 pm. This meant that it was difficult to evaluate the condition of the car, but it arrived in excellent condition. I also included a small suitcase in the trunk with some books and this was also fine. Chris was always responsive to any questions and their website has a lot of helpful information.
