I would go somewhere else for your auto transportation needs.
I needed to move my vehicle from California to Connecticut. I was told by the sales representative, John Krueger, 1-866-327-8060 ext. 5106, that they needed approximately 14 days to move my vehicle from terminal to terminal. I offered to pay the additional $150 to guarantee the vehicle on a particular date because it was my wife picking up the vehicle. John said not to worry about the additional funds because I promised to deliver the vehicle to the drop-off terminal a day early giving DAS 15 days to move the vehicle.
Dropping off the vehicle went as planned and on the day I said I would deliver it. Using DAS’ internet system to check the status of the vehicle was easy. Unfortunately after more than a week of sitting at the drop-off terminal the estimated time of delivery moved from the day I needed the vehicle to 3 days later. Since the customer service is not available on weekends, the earliest I could contact John was on Monday. Well John apologized and promptly transferred me to their customer service division. Apparently John does not offer customer service. You will wait a minimum of 15 minutes to talk to someone in customer service. When I did talk to a representative, they said there was an “unexpected mass exodus” of outbound vehicles from California. DAS had no way to anticipate the exodus and that caused a delay in their system. I said if that were true, wouldn’t DAS have more transport carriers coming into California to move vehicles? Also if my vehicle was the front of the mass exodus wouldn’t it get service first? I guess not.
Well somehow DAS manages to get the vehicle on a transport and it heads out east. The computer system tells me the vehicle will be 1 day late. It is problematic, but I can live with that. I check their computer system everyday for status. As we near delivery the delivery date gets moved off one more day to a Sunday. Calling the receiving terminal, Mirabelli Automotive in Newington, CT, they say they never receive vehicles on a Sunday. Now I feel like the computer system is being manipulated to show me a date that is only 2 days late, but realistically will be 3 days late.
Well we finally receive the vehicle 3 days late. It costs me additional funds because I needed to rent a vehicle due to the delay. I also feel DAS did not want my funds to guarantee the delivery date because they knew they could not deliver on the day I needed. DAS was recommended to me by my local California Automobile Association. I will be letting CAAA to not recommend DAS in the future.

As there was no order number or name given on this review, we are unable to track the details. However, the imbalance of freight coming out of California did create some delays throughout the US. As the customer did not purchase a guaranteed transit option, our shipping times are ESTIMATED. However, it is always our goal to achieve all of our ETA's. We apologize for the delay.
