I learned the hard way that you have to be careful which company you choose. The cheapest is not necessarily the best. There are some sketchy/misleading companies (e.g. Viking Auto Transport) out there.
I ultimately went with American Auto Movers because they are highly rated by the Better Business Bureau (I HIGHLY recommend checking this before booking any transportation) and because Kelsey, who I spoke with on the phone, was very sincere and knowledgeable - not your typical salesperson just trying to make a buck. He never made a promise he couldn't keep, which is one of the best ways to do business in my book. He arranged for my car to leave the very next day with a local transporter. I highly recommend working with American Auto Movers. They are very trustworthy and reliable.
