AmeriFreight Car Shipping

This was my second time using Amerifreight; after shipping my vehicle from NJ to CA almost 3 years ago, it was time to ship my car back. I decided that based on my past 5 star experience, I'd go with the company again. The reason that I will not give a 5 star review this time is because the entire experience was awful. Jorge C. from Amerifreight was very professional and cordial; it is thanks to him that I received my car within a reasonable amount of time. HOWEVER, Amerifreight needs to break ties with the company they contracted to ship my car.
Starway Logistic LLC, based out of PA was the carrier company. Noone from said company contacted me with regards to picking my car up, and if I called them, noone answered, and there was no voicemail. I contacted Jorge with Amerifreight to advise him of this problem, and finally Starway contacted me, ONLY to let me know that they will be a day late in picking up the car. "No big deal," I thought to myself, because we would still be in the area to release the car. As the day approaches, I hear nothing once again, and I get antsy and attempt to call the number that leads to no voicemail. After a couple of attempts, I get in contact with George L. with Starway, who now tells me they will be a day late AGAIN due to weather issues.
Now we had a problem, as I was moving out of the area that day. Normally I am a relatively patient person, however I did not receive ONE phone call from the company to keep me updated on what was happening so I could make appropriate plans. THIS was the problem!! I understand, weather delays, mechanical issues. Things happen, BUT CALL ME AND TELL ME WHAT'S HAPPENING so I don't have to go crazy trying to track you down!!! And what solutions did he give me? Leave the car keys in my mailbox. How about under a rock somewhere? NO WAY!! Luckily for me, the lady who bought our home was nice enough to hang onto my car for me until they showed up.
I left George L. (from Starway) with her name and phone number. I guess I shouldn't have even bothered, because noone called her to let her know that the carrier was going to be a day late AGAIN! So it was basically me trying to work my way around this while driving across the country with a car full of pets. I called Jorge (from Amerifreight), who had basically been trying to help and follow up with me, and told him he needs to handle it, I've had enough. They picked my car up the following morning.
Then it's time to try to deliver my car to NJ. Based on this entire experience I wasn't even sure I'd even see my car again. I waited around patiently until I heard from Jorge (Amerifreight), who was following up on whether I'd heard from the company and if my car had been delivered. "No and no," was my reply. He said he'd look into it and follow up. Long story short, after more and more delays (and no phone calls from Starway to advise me of this), I was supposed to have my car on Wednesday. I was thrilled at the news. That night Jorge (Amerifreight) called, I told him excitedly that I'd be seeing my car tomorrow! Then he broke the latest bad news: due to mechanical issues my car was stuck in PA (the driver told me he was in Maryland the day before). Basically I wouldn't be seeing my car until the following Monday. WHAT?! JORGE FIX IT!!!
..And that he did. The next day I spoke with Jorge and told him he needs to get the supervisor's name for me and I would be driving out to PA to pick my car up. Next thing I know, a driver is calling me telling me that my car will be there in about 40 minutes. They used an entire carrier for just my little car! I was so pleasantly surprised; all's well that ends well (ALMOST). Anyway, Amerifreight loses a star because they work with such a company, but Jorge made up for the bad experience; he really came through. Thanks Jorge!
