Absolutely Horrible

This was absolutely the worst experience I've had with shipping a car and my car hasn't even shipped. I called the company a month in advance to book a reservation. I am moving from California to Ohio and wanted to get my car there before I got there. The sales representative gave me a date my car would be picked up and told me he would follow up to prior to the pickup date.

I called the company 3 days ahead of my pickup date, every day to ensure it would picked up. I notified them that no driver or dispatcher had called me and they said someone should be in touch with you 12 hours in advance. The day has since passed and they now say someone tried to pickup the car but I wouldn't release the car. An outright lie, since no one has contacted me. They now tell me the earlierst they can pick up the car is well after my move date. Not only will I not my car on time, and will have to rent a car for $100/day, but no one will be here to give the driver the keys. They totally dropped the ball on my car pickup and timetable, and not one customer service or sales agent has ever called me back to inform me of any information - I had to constantly make the calls to a line where you wait at least 20 minutes to get a representative. If you try to get the manager of customer service, she is never in and you will likely get her voice mail which is probably full of hundereds of messages that never get returned. I am totally disappointed with the service, the people involved, and the lack of any follow through or care for the customer's situation. If you don't want to get into the same bind, DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER USING AA ADVANTAGE AUTO TRANSPORT. I will cancel my order - and have found another carrier that found me a driver in a day to get my car there on time (Specialty Mobile Systems). I got a hold of the owner and his son on a Saturday (which most others are not even working) and they hooked me up with a driver that afternoon. There is a reason SPECIALTY MOBILE SYSTEMS is rated 5 stars on this site and AA ADVANTAGE AUTO is rated 0.


Follow Up
Just a follow on to my last review, the company now wishes to charge me a cacellation fee of up to $200 for having never even contacted me , having no driver, dispatcher ever call me, or arrange to pick up the car at the designated time, or even tell me when they can have it picked up. I could see the charge if there was someone already arranged to pick up my car and I was backing out, but I'm backing of the reservation because they don't have anyone to pick up my car or is there anyone scheduled, and they still want to cahrge me......go figure......DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR YOUR TRANSPORT NEEDS. IT WILL ONLY CAUSE YOU A LOT OF PAIN, STRESS, AND PROBLEMS!

We were commissioned on July 6, 2004 to ship Ms.Ko’s vehicle. The vehicle was made available to us on July 21, 2004. The vehicle was dispatched to a carrier on July 20, 2004. The carrier informed us that they spoke with Ms. Ko and she would not release the vehicle, Ms. Ko had claimed she never received a call. There was an apparent miscommunication with the carrier. The carrier informed us that they would have another truck to pick up the vehicle the 28th or 29th of July or we would locate another carrier for the transport which we informed Ms. Ko of on July 24, 2004. Ms. Ko decided to cancel her order with us on July 26, 2004. We issued a credit on August 9, 2004, we did withhold a $100.00 cancellation fee. Our regular cancellation fee is $200.00. We feel for the amount of work, telephone calls, rescheduling, etc. that was involved with her order, this was fair.
