I bought a British sports car over 1000 miles away on Ebay. The car had been freshly painted and was iffy on how operable it would be since it was not completely re-assembled. I had been searching on my own for a transport company to move the car to New Hampshire and did a lot of research before contracting anyone. I read all the horror stories about cars sitting at terminals for days or weeks while in transport. This was not an option for this car. It was extremely low mileage and in mint condition and I wanted to receive it in that same way. I was not originally going to use a broker because I was hoping to deal with the driver personally to be sure he understood the importance of getting the car 1000 miles to NH in the same condition it left IL.
I eventually found this website and started reading reviews for the transporters and brokers and happened upon 1st Call Auto Haul. The majority of customers were very satisfied with the way Eric took control of your vehicle transport from the moment you agreed on a price and time frame. My instincts were correct. Right from the start Eric was professional, did not lie about anything just to get my business and was up front with all charges and realistic shipping times. I paid the extra charge for expedited service so I could keep the car from sitting anywhere that it may get damaged. He found a great carrier named Phil Gates (owner-operator) of Gates auto-transport. The car was shipped during a holiday weekend and still arrived in 5 days after it left IL, a little dirty but much much better than I expected.
Needless to say, I am one happy camper with Eric from 1st Call Auto Haul and Phil Gates from Gates auto-transport and thank them both. If I ever do this again, Eric will be MY only call. Thanks again Eric.
