Placed an order on April 11, 2007 for shipping of my 1998 Toyota 4Runner from New York City to Northern California. I needed my vehicle to reach the destination by May 1, 2007. I was informed by Eric that I would get more info before the weekend of May 21, 2007. The weekend had passed and no status on the order. After following up on the order, Auto Carrier Services was contracted to pick up vehicle on April 25, 2007 with an estimated delivery of May 2, 2007. Pick up date was then moved to April 27, 2007, delaying delivery to Northern California even further. When pick up of vehicle was not possible, C & D Trucking was assigned to pick up vehicle on April 28, 2007 with an estimated delivery of May 6, 2007--nearly 5 days past the date I had hoped to receive my 4Runner. During the whole period, I kept inquiring about the status of the order; rather than me being kept informed. Who knows how much longer it would have taken for pick up and delivery to take place if I had not inquired so often.

Hi Ronaldo, I want to personally apologize for the delays during the pick-up of your vehicle in New York. As you know, we had to reschedule three different carriers to come to Long Island to pick your vehicle up, as the first two had unavoidable mechanical problems. While these carriers could have picked up your vehicle on time, both trucks required time consuming repairs that would have prevented them from reaching California before you went on vacation. I made a decision to change gears and go with another carrier. I did this because you told me, well after you placed the order, that you were going out of the country on May 6th 2007 and that the vehicle needed to be delivered no later than Saturday May 5th, 2007. Essentially that leaves very little room for error. While I take full responsibility for the delays in New York, I will point out that the vehicle did arrive prior to your vacation and within a 4-day window of the first date possible to deliver the vehicle, which was May 1st, 2007. I communicated with you several times a day during the delays and I personally kept you abreast of each and every development. I think it is a mistake to assume that your calls every half hour were the only reason the task was completed on time, as I take pride in my work and genuinely care to see a successful transport through to its conclusion. Again, please accept my apologies. Regards, Eric Sailer 1st Call Auto Haul
