This is somwwhat a difficult review to give, however I will try to be as fair as possible.

After finding a 71 Cutlass SX Convertible, I was excited to get it as soon as possible. I got several qutoes from other transport companies and decided to go with one. The first rule of thumb of shipping your beloved vehicle is not going the cheapest route. I made that mistake with one company(whom I won't name but will be leaving NEGATIVE feedback on) and they couldn't deliver on the price they quoted. I was getting desperate as Christmas was approaching. I contacted other companies and 1 Flat Rate. I soon found out that having too many companies on your vehicle will delay the process since drivers don't want to take the chance of traveling to pick up your vehicle only to find out another company has already gotten it. It wastes time and money, and truckers hate losing those things! I decided to go exclusively with 1 Flat Rate ,and had the other companies take me off the board. It's now a week and a half before Christmas and I had already came to the reality that I wouldn't get my car until after the new year. I had been speaking with a very nice lady named Yani. She was very informative and ensured me that they would continue to keep looking for me a transport. The route from Idaho to Alabama is not a route that is popular and that also caused some delay. I had give given up on 1 Flat Rate after a couple weeks and finally called Reliable Carriers who quoted me $1950 +/-. Another week and a half goes by and they hadn't even assigned my car to anyone (and they have their own trucks). That's when I got a call from the sweet voice of Yani saying she had found me a carrier!! I immediately cancelled my deal with the other carrier and we moved forward. Here is where things in the trucking game get tricky. 1 Flat Rate did a good job of keeping my car on the board and finding a carrier for my transport. My car was estimated to be picked up on 1/5/12 and estimated to arrive on 1/12/12. To give 1 Flat Rate credit, they do tell you and email you that delays can happen due to weather, breakdown, etc. and times are not guranteed. The problem I had with them was the lack of commuication on the delays that were occurring. After being told pick up would be on the 5th, I phoned and emailed my seller to let him know. The 4th came with no confirmation of pick up, then the 5th came with no communicaiton. It wasn't until I called while at work, that I found out there was a delay in the pick up of my car. I was told that it would be 1/7/12 when the car would be picked up. Again there was a delay and I didn't find out until I called 1 Flat Rate. I was then told it would be the next day 1/8/12 but not later than 1/9/12. I then got an email on 1/9/12 stating that my car had been picked up. I later found out from my seller that the car had actually been picked up on 1/8/12. Since the car had already been delayed by 3 days I knew the time had taken off work for the original day would be in vain. I finally got my car on 1/15/12 after another delay in shipping. I had called and spoke to Ray about negotiating the shipping price. Since 1 Flat Rate is just a broker they have no room to give discounts as their fee is nominal to what you actually pay to the carrier. I was able to get $100 off shipping from the carrier for the delays but at that point I was just happy to finally have my car after trying to have it shipped for over a month. I liked the idea that 1 Flat Rate does not take nor ask for any money from you during the whole process. They may be the only company doing that and if not, one of the very few. They did a good job of finding me a carrier, however did a very poor job of communicating. This process would have been a lot easier if I did not HAVE to have enclosed shipping. I am certain they will find you a carrier quite easy, considering you don't have to transport on an odd route like I did. I only hope that they communicate a lot better than they did with me on the delays BEFORE the car was picked up.The lack of communication greatly affects their rating since they should keep you posted on these things. Since I used them as a broker to find me transport, I have to hold them responsible for the drivers mishaps therefore the rating is not as high as it could be. They put their neck out on the line in this business and in most cases there likely aren't any problems in most cases. But when there is a problem their rating is reflected and justified as such in my review.

It's always disappointing to have a customer less than 100 per cent happy with our service. Although it is a little odd that this customer writes above, no less than seven times....- - 1Flat-Rate did a good job - - yes...seven times. His main gripe is a supposed lack of communication regarding a delay at the pick up. - - - - - He mentions the truck breaking down and no communication as to when it was to get moving. - - - - He doesn't mention the truck actually broke down in the driveway of the nice gentleman at the pick up location. - - - - Yes, the 93 foot long Auto Carrier,.....approximately one third the length of a football field, sat in the driveway of the gentleman at the pick up location for three days................. Seriously Sir, I really did not have to phone this gentleman to let him know there was going to be a bit of a delay with the pick up- - - - - - He knew perfectly well ......!!!!!!!...weird review.
