I worked with Joe Perez to move my car loaded with personal items across the country. I expected the price to be reasonable based on our initial conversation and discussion around weight limits, etc.; however, when the driver picked up the car he significantly increased the price without my knowledge. Joe cooly communicated the change and I was hopeful to negotiate a compromise with the driver when he arrived to the end destination. When the driver arrived, his boss was less than agreeable and insisted on the additional payments or threatened to take the car away. Wanting to resolve the issue quickly, we respectfully paid the requested difference. Afterwards, I followed up with Joe and he calmly assured us that should we have this issue again in the future, to allow him to intervene and negotiate on our behalf. Drivers, brokers and all parties involved should be respectful despite disagreements; even though in our experience, the driver's boss failed to be so. We were very pleased with the collected demeanor and attentiveness Joe demonstrated throughout the complex process and we would certainly work with him again especially now that we're aware of the weight issues that can come with having personal items in the car.
