Great service. Prompt Pickup and Delivery.
After reading a lot of reviews, I was very worried with the state of this transport business overall. I chose to go with only companies with great reviews even if they costed more. My lowest quote was $850 but I went with Wise Auto who quoted $1050 because of their good reviews.
I took the 5 day pick up (cheapest) service. For this level, pick up is not guaranteed in 5 days. If vehicle is not picked up, they will reduce their cut and give more money to drivers to entice them to pick up the car. Which means that you don't benefit, the car simply sits without being picked up which can be a big problem.
I was very wary choosing this service considering that I was leaving in 4 days and would not be available to baby sit the car if it was not picked up. But Wise Auto / Frank Avalos exceeded my expectations. They convinced me with their confidence that while they don't guarantee pickup in 5 days, they have a pretty good idea of what will get picked up and what won't, otherwise, they would not offer me or others a product called "5 day pickup". So, I took that service and got a friend of mine to agree to baby sit the car as a backup option in case they didn't pick up my car.
I finally confirmed that I would go with the 5 day pickup at 4:45pm PDT (they close at 5pm) and they immediately processed the order and made that day 1 (which, I felt, they really didn't have to do).
Car was picked up on Day 3, (40hrs after placing order!!)
The agreement was 300 miles per day and 10 day delivery time. Car was delivered in 9 days, 1 day before their estimate.
Car was dust ridden (open transport) but in good condition. No issues at all whatsoever.
I was very happy with Wise Auto Shipping and the transporting company as well and will certainly do business with them.
Keep this in mind if you are a first time user of car shippers: Remember that Wise Auto (or perhaps any company) waives its hands off anything that happens to the car while being shipped, it is the transporter's responsibility.
Now, the transporter's waiver of responsibility (which I had to sign or car wouldn't be picked up ... assume this is standard of all transporters, I suppose) was ridiculous. As far as I could tell, they are not responsible was pretty much anything (acts of god, earthquakes, fluid damages, brake damages, transmission problems, any goo falling on your car (presumably from other cars above yours), acid damage (from batteries?), mechanical/wired systems, etc, etc, etc. They even said that their insurance is only supplemental after your own car policy covers any damage.
At that point, I said to my car, "Ok car, I'll see you in this life ... or the next". It was really ridiculous ... I mean, I felt that they could crash my car or even steal it and I would be stuck with increased insurace premiums, etc. I really didn't get this part. Perhaps this is specific to only my transporter or more likely, everybody in the industry does it.
But everything worked out great. Absolutely no complaints. They delivered more than they promised and I am a more-than-satisfied customer. I will certainly go with Wise Auto or the transport company that picked my car up (Mobile Transport Inc, Spokane, WA) any time.
