Our major decision was based on other people's referrals from this site. We decided to go with Wheeler Shipping for our car transport move from Huntington, NY (Long Island) to Greenville, SC.
I called and spoke to Sue Wheeler. Sue did an excellent job with everything. Our car transport began August 30th, 2006. We arranged for a car pickup, but since the car carrier had such a long vehicle, we decided to meet the driver at our local mall. It was easier to do that since the carrier had such a long truck - it only made sense. Also, it was a good idea because the less our neighbors know the better. The driver had some cell phone issues, but he quickly fixed that and gave us an alternate number. We met the driver and always inspect the car before and after the car move. We arranged to meet the driver and pick up the car in a parking lot near our home. The driver was on time, and I can’t say one bad thing about the whole car transport process.
Be sure to ask for the driver’s name, and cell phone number before the move. Ask if the driver had ever been in our area before. Also confirm mileage/gas/tolls and who pays for what. I would highly recommend Wheeler Shipping.
