I contracted United Road, supposedly th nation's largest vehicle shipping logistics provider, to transport a vehicle from Milford CT (right on I 95) to Swainsboro GA (close to Savannah GA). The car was available for pickup the day I paid the shipping charge, there was no need to confirm that the car was sold or available because it was MINE, yet United road took 3 days just to ascertain that the car was sold and available for pickup even tough I specifically told them so the day I arranged the shipment. I was told it would take up to 9 business days for the car to be picked up. After 9 days nobody contacted me or picked up the car, so I called and had to wait about 30 minutes before I ever even got to talk to someone, then I was transferred numerous times and was ultimately told there were no plans to pick the car up anytime in the foreseaable future. I called repeatedly for days and was never given a straight answer and just told that the location wasn't close to any terminals, so I offered to have the car DELIVERED to a terminal, since UNITED ROAD was so incompetent as to not have a truck stop by and pick the car up. All to no avail. I finally received the car over 3 weeks late when UNITED ROAD CONTRACTED a different company to bring me the car. The different company was BEST TRANSPORT from Pompano Beach FL and they did a great job, no scratches or dents and the driver (Wayne) was very friendly and called me every day to give me updates. UNITED ROAD is the most incompetent, disorganized and customer unfriandly company I have dealt with. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM UNLESS YOU ARE PREPARED TO MAKE ALL ARRANGEMENTS YOURSELF, CALL THEM EVERY DAY AND WAIT ABOUT 30 MINS to 1 HOUR ON HOLD!!!!!!!!!!!!! They only get the job done when they contract someone else to do it!!!I WOULD NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM EVER AGAIN!!!! The best advice I can give is pay an extra $50 and have a different carrier move your car!

United Road regrets that Matt was unhappy with the service he received with United Road. It is our policy to confirm with the origin that a vehicle is paid for and ready for pickup, until this is confirmed the order is left on hold and the customer is always made aware of this at the time the order is placed. We always give estimates and never gurantees as in the auto transport business delays can happen with our carriers, from mechanical to weather related issues. We had a carrier assigned within 7 business days and due to unforseen delays, we had to reactivatethe order and get another carrier assigned, from this point forward Matt received a phone call every day keeping him informed of the estimated time of arrival of his vehicle.
