I am a just regular guy who likes to tinker with cars as a hobby. I bought a unique car that I like (non-op) on ebay. It was 600 miles away but the price was right and I had been looking for a year for one of these. The ebay seller was ok with giving me some time to arrange a pickup so I bid to win and I got it. I wasn't quite sure how to get it. I was undecided as to whether to fly out/ take a bus/train, drive out with somebody fix it and drive back; or contact a shipper. The car was non-op and the problems seemed minor but the car had not run in a year and the seller backpedaled on whether it was driveable. Yikes! While sorting it out, I filled out an online application for a transport quote. I never had a car transported. I had no idea who to use. From that one online RFQ, I received 75 quotes and it took me a week to sort through them all. I found three I liked. I emailed questions, ranked the answers, called three of them and ranked the conversations. I was in no mans land. United was initially my thrird choice based on the email replies. But when I called #1, he was driving around and although I asked for a quote on non-op, he quoted a price for an operational vehicle. When I clarified non-op, #1 said for me to go back to the seller and see if he could get it operational. He was non-responsive. I gave the deal to #2 who told me he would do it for a certain price and quoted a higher price. But #2 said 90% of his contracts are signed by drivers within 3 days. A couple weeks had gone by and I went with #2. I waited a week and nothing happened so I cancelled. I called United #3 and I am glad I did because they jumped to it and made it happen. They were immediately responsive, understood the nature of the vehicle, gave me a great price, pretty much handled it in a couple phone calls. I immediately realized that United understood the auto ship business. What was a problem for other shippers, was nothing more than a speed bump for these guys. I got a call from the transport driver that he had picked up the car. I was expecting a call from United on the the delivery date, but got a call the next day from the driver saying he'd be at the house in 90 minutes to drop it off. He showed up, dropped the car down where I wanted it, accepted payment, gave me a receipt - bing, bang, boom. Done. I didn't know it could be so easy. It was a no-brainer for United. Joe, Natalie and Riahnnon are pro's. They know the business. They are competitive. They are customer oriented. They got the job done. This is what they do. They gave me a great price, terrific phone and email communication, found a super duper pro driver to get the car picked up and delivered. No fanfare, no promises, no broken promises. They just provided a terrific service. I am much obliged and I am writing this review to thank them for getting it done for me. If and when I need another car moved, I'm going straight to Joe and Riahnnon at United Auto Movers where I can be assured that I will get a great deal and excellent service. Thank you United.
