This is first time I was using a transport company for vehicle. Transport Services called me in response to filling out an online request for a quote. Mr. Bill presented a very rosy picture of service quality, full insurance, own the truck and driver. But my horror begun once I placed the order.

Summary of my transport:
Quote # : 119337
From – To : Novi, MI to Woodbridge, NJ (approx. 650 miles)
Pickup date : 8/3/2009 (scheduled 8/4/2009)
Delivery Date : 8/14/2009 7am (scheduled 8/7) - 11 days to transport
Mileage at pickup : 116336 miles
Mileage at delivery : 117689 miles
Miles Driven : 1353 miles
Damage : Yes, Exhaust system

Nightmare of car delivery:
Jul 29: Placed order for a scheduled pickup on 8/4
Aug 3: Car picked up 1 day early, late night, driver didn’t provided any receipt of the vehicle
Aug 7: Called up TS and was told driver will call on Aug 8 and deliver vehicle in evening
Aug 8: No calls from Driver
Aug 10: Called up TS - they said Car will be delivered on 8/11; delay due to one drop off got delayed
Aug 11: Neither call from driver nor the car delivered. TS told me car is coming on Aug 12th morning.
Aug 12: No call from driver till afternoon. Reached driver - truck is broke in PA – delivery on 8/13.
Aug 13: Evening - driver – can’t deliver now, will deliver early morning 8/14, agreed time 6-6.30 am.
Aug 14: Received call at 6.30 – can’t drive to complex, already running late for office, I went and picked up the car from the parking lot across street and signed their vehicle condition report. While driving I did notice some unusual noise from engine bay, but not sure parked the car and went to office.

During the day I check my relative if there was any noise from the engine and confirmed everything was fine and car was services at Toyota service center on 7/27. When I can back from office checked the car and the service report surprised to see the car has been driven 1353 miles. Immediately contacted driver and he told will call back next day morning, but no call.

I took a picture of mileage and send an email to TS that car has been ripped apart, driven illegally, damaged, and will take to Toyota service next day for estimation.

Nightmare of damage claim:
Aug 15: Took the car to Toyota service center and they said exhaust system has damages – need to change some piped etc and cost would be approx, $1600, and paid $130 for inspection. Spoke to Cory in afternoon and he promised we are fully insured and don’t worry. Emailed estimate to TS.

Over the last one week, I am just running all around but without any output and being asked for proof that the car is damaged during transit. I provided all proof as mentioned below.
1. Car service report -7/27 – 27 point inspection – mileage 116281 miles
2. Car picked up 8/3 – mileage 116336 (incidentally a copy of inspection report was taken at pickup, since there was no receipt given)
3. Car delivered 8/14 – mileage 117689 (cud not record on inspection report, but emailed TS picture of mileage in evening)
4. Car estimates 8/15 – mileage 117695
5. Provide service history for few years from Toyota – vehicle always serviced at Toyota dealership

Some of questions I was asked are
• Evidence that car has not been damaged between 1 & 3 (55 miles after service)
• Evidence that I have not driven the car for 1351 miles (i.e. I took delivery Friday morning drove the car for 1353 miles bring back home, took pictures of mileage and sent to them to take insurance claim)
• It’s your car, get the bill of lading from driver and driver says don’t call me.

On the vehicle condition report, there was nothing mentioned like I cannot claim any damage after singing that paper and no place for recording mileage. I thought TS have full insurance and any legitimate damage will be covered by insurance. Since it is a door to door service, I never imagined that car can be driven and ripped apart as well. Reaching TS is a nightmare; you are caller number 6, 5, 4…1 and then leave a message that goes to dumb ears, and you never get a proactive from TS. After a week I understood their motive is very clear and will not do anything.

Bottom line is during the whole process I have wasted 15 hours in follow-ups, scan documents, estimates and emails; received damaged, driven and ripped apart unusable car and still scratching my head why I choose Transport Services.

The reason I am writing an elaborate review to let someone like me be aware of the tricks that this company plays and not get harassed and cheated by this company. Hopefully someone might look at this and do something to help me. Thanks for reading this review. I am thinking to report to USDOT and BBB.
