I wanted to beat the summer rush and possible gas expense so i booked a transport in February for the upcoming month of July. I was given a quote of $500 plus an additional $125 processing/booking fee. I was told by the associate that i would be "locked in" at the $500 even if the price of gas went up over the summer. Well, in July i finally got my move dates and called to confirm and found out that none of the previous information was correct. Turned out that i was lied to by the associate! I found out that the guy had been fired a few months before that. Now i was looking at a price up to $500-800 more than the original quote!
Thankfully the new associate that helped me out explained how the whole reservation/ transport system works and i was able to enter a bid only a few hundred dollars more than my original bid. He was very friendly and helpful in correcting the situation.
If i choose to transport in the future, i now know how the system works and feel that i won't be taken advantage of and can ensure i get a fair deal.
Even though i feel that i got screwed by this company in the beginning, i feel that the issue was resolved and i got a very fair deal in the end. I would probably use them again in the future as long as their employees remain honest and up front.
