First a caveat. This company is a BROKER, not a carrier. In the best of cases, their "performance" is dependent on the competence of a third-party dispatcher and the integrity of the even-less-accountable actual truck drivers. In our case, the first carrier they lined up was rude and incompetent at best ("Why weren't the keys sitting in your car waiting for me?", and DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO ATTACH a jump starter), certainly liars ("our truck is just a mile away"- which they couldn't find when we FOLLOWED them over 5 miles), and possibly crooked (change drawer empty after that 5-mile jaunt, kept protesting when we tried to take their picture, and eventually raced off). In my book, responding well when things do NOT go as planned is more indicative of character than getting things perfect the first time. We called Tokooe, detailed our experience, and asked for an alternate carrier. In about an hour they called with an alternative- who showed up that same afternoon, and delivered the car 500 miles south the next morning.
Have no illusions here. This is a company that relies on the value of information with a shelf life of a few hours. And they are not about holding your hand through the whole process- to survive, once they connect you with a (hopefully reliable) carrier, they really need to get on to the next sale. But for me, they stepped up as they should have, when I needed them to. That's good work.
