My deallings with Suncast Auto Transport in all honesty was a pleasant experience. They answered / returned my phone calls and kept me informed as best they could through the whole transport process although they did not transport my car. I received my quote from them prior to winning the bid on my 1969 Pontiac Le Mans and after all was said and done Sun Coast still honered that price quote, no pressure, no time limit or price increase. My signed contract was with SunCoast who contracted with another Company to Transport my car. Needless to say a pleasant experience turned sour before it was all over. B&B Transport form Bowling Green, Ohio did the actual car hauling. My total was to be $1,200.00 for the job with $175.00 held as a deposit, leaving a balance of $1025.00 to be paid C.O.D. on arrival. Since the car was inoperable, and couldn't be driven on the car hauler the $1,200.00 quote included an additonal charge of $150.00 for loading and unloading. B&B Transport was aware of the status of the car and the $150.00 they would be paid for loading / unloading. The car was picked up on Fri Nov 7 in CA and on Fri Nov 14 I finally called the driver. he was in Memphis, TN. I knew then that the car wouldn't be here that day but asked him to call the day before he was to deliver. On Sun Nov 16 I called him and got no answer, he never returned my call to confirm Mon. On Mon Nov 17, 8:30 am he called to tell me he was parked out on my street. When he showed up he informed me that I needed to get a tow truck to get the car off of his truck, he winched it onto but refused to winch the car down off of his truck. Not wanting to argue or make a scene I unwillingly called a wrecker and at an additional cost of $75.00 to me, the tow truck driver unloaded my car. I was also charged an additional $25.00 by the B&B driver because he had to wait while I went to the bank and for the tow truck to get here. When all was Said and done, I was out another $100.00 SUPRISE!!!!!!! CAUTION..... ASK TO KNOW WHO THE TRANSPORT CO. IS BEFORE HAND, TALK TO THEM PERSONALLY TO MAKE SURE THAT THEY KNOW ALL THE DETAILS AND THE EXACT AMOUNT THE DRIVER WILL BE PAID. This was my first experience and a bad one but it will never happen again.

In order for a vehicle to be transported, even if inoperable, it needs to roll, steer, and brake for safety reasons. This information is given to all customers prior to dispatching any vehicle. It is the customer's responsibility to answer all questions regarding the vehicle honestly and accurately. In this case, we were not aware this particular vehicle had no brakes until the driver arrived to pick up the vehicle. Instead of canceling, the driver took extra time to load the vehicle safely and made sure it was securely fastened on the truck. Although he was able to load the vehicle safely, this was not the case upon delivery. Because the vehicle had no brakes and the delivery location was on a hill, the driver could not safely unload the vehicle without the assistance of a tow truck. It was necessary for the driver to do what he had to do to insure a safe delivery without any damages to the vehicle and all parties involved. Also, the driver called in advance for pick up and still had to wait for the person releasing the vehicle to wake up. I was advised that the driver called and spoke to the delivery contact 2 days prior to delivery to confirm the date and time frame for drop off and also that there would be a strong possibility a tow truck would be needed. This situation could have been avoided if the customer would have notified us prior to dispatch that this vehicle had no brakes.
