Bad experience with Stateway

I contracted with Stateway because, according to the website and according to my conversation with Mike on July 30, they use their own trucks and could assure me that my vehicle would be in Los Angeles by August 13th. Starting on August 3, I called every day asking for an update on the pickup of my Jeep Liberty. I was first told that the order had been picked up by the driver on Tuesday, August 4 and that we would get a call from the driver with 2-3 hours notice. When we didn't get a call by Wednesday evening, we called again and spoke to Anna. She said that I had nothing to worry about. The order had been picked up on Thursday (even though we were told Tuesday) and we could expect a call from the driver Thursday or Friday. When I didn't get a call on Friday, I called and spoke to Anna again. She didn't know why we had not gotten a call yet, but offered to call the driver on our behalf. She called back to say that the driver did not pick up his phone but that they usually check in every half hour and she would call us as soon as she heard from him. The next call we got was from Alfred Kubanov, letting us know that that the car would be picked up Saturday, August 8 and would be delivered by August 17th, 4 days after our absolute deadline for getting the car there. We were never told that an independent carrier would be transporting our vehicle. He said he had just picked the job up off the Internet. There was no option of vehicle tracking, also a selling feature listed on the website, although the driver was a delightful man and was most cooperative and understanding of our situation. Starting August 7, I could not get through on their 24/7 phone line. I did leave an urgent message - it was never returned. I finally sent an email and got a response on August 12 from Frank Penna, who did continue an email dialogue with me for several days to his credit. It doesn't change the fact I had a terrible experience with them. They caused great anxiety for me and my family and cost me an additional $200 in car rental fees.
