Dear Steve, thank you for your feedback. Your point is an important one to address. Stateway Auto Transport is both a broker and a carrier. We never hide this fact. This information is stated on this site, on our website, in our terms and our sales reps are trained to express this verbally upon scheduling. With that said, we always do our best to set up the shipment on a Stateway truck. Unfortunately, sometimes the location of pickup or delivery make that challenging as we may not have one of our trucks near the location. Whenever we do use a subcontractor, it is always someone that we are confident will perform as professionally and responsibly as we would. We have a very strict set or rules and guidelines that we abide by in selecting a carrier. First, they must have a $1,000,000.00 Cargo Insurance, as we do. Secondly, they must have a 95% or higher rating on the National Board, as we do. Lastly, they have to either be someone we have worked with before or we ask that they provide us with three references so that we can get a feel for who they are and how they do business.
