I was originally quoted $750.00 per car (I had two cars to move). Shortly after agreeing to the quotation, I was charged to my credit card a deposit for the original quotation of $750.00. To make sure my cars were moved in time (I had less than a week before we had to move) I called to ask about what was going on. When I called Speedy Auto they claimed the paperwork was invalid due to the time that elapsed from the quotation to the current date, I also heard it was lost, they mis-spelled my name, and 'that guy isn't here anymore so I don't know what you were quoted' after various other conversations.
Becuase they lost my paperwork (or whatever happened, I am still not clear on that) and the quote was no longer was valid, I had to reschedule the two cars to be moved for a higher rate. When I spoke to a manager the same day, they understood my position (they had charged my deposit and therefore will honor the original rate) and said they would refund me the difference. However, I never received the refund.
When I tried calling Speedy Auto Transport a few weeks later, I was brushed off, my emails were not returned, and managers never returned my phone calls. When I was finally able to speak to a manager, he said he has never heard of my complaint before and he couldn't do anything. I spoke to his boss and he argued since I agreed to have to have the cars picked up, I agreed to the higher price and they were not going to issue me the refund I was originally told I would receive. (Even though they were happy to charge me the deposit of the original quotation without any signed paperwork). The manager even admitted they had to fire the person who originally gave me the quotation and charged me for the initial deposit, but still refused to keep their word as a company and provide the differences in quotation, or any recompensation. I was told I am "just one of many customers."
Basically, it took me 3 months to speak to any manager even though I left numerous messages for them, emailed them, and tried calling during their manager business hours of 9AM-12PM Monday-Friday (which they were not always available during this time either). Their customer service is the worst I have ever come across, and I am willing to pay a higher price than to ever have to deal with Speedy Auto again. I have never been more frustrated by a customer service department than with Speedy Auto Trasport.
The people who actually moved my car, American Auto Transport, did a wonderful job. They picked the car up at our house, dropped off in front of our apartment complex, kept us updated to where the car was, and were very nice. The car arrived in great condition, and I cannot complain. They are the ones who did all of the actual work and calling, not Speedy Auto Transport.
