After a poor experience with America's Choice Auto Movers--who turned out to be neither "choice" nor "movers" (they gave me a pickup date and didn't contact me when the truck broke down en route to my house--I could find out only by calling THEM--and this is 2 days after the fact, because they close early on Sundays--and even when you do speak with the office staff, they aren't entirely helpful...a great deal of run around)--I made a reservation with SMS, and I was very pleased with their service, professionalism, and courtesy. I was wary about putting my car in someone else's hands to have it shipped 2,000 miles, but SMS was on top of their game and made me feel at ease about everything. The driver was one day late (but hey, he was initially supposed to come on New Year's Day) but I didn't mind because the driver communicated with us. My car made it from WI to southern CA in 5 days--and in great shape. It did indeed cost me more than I had initially planned (my quotes were in the $1,000 range), but SMS's reliability was worth its weight in gold. By the way, my driver's name is Jim, and he is with Reliable Auto Transport. I guess it is partially luck of the draw as far as who you get sub-contracted to, but I would think that SMS has a time- and experience-validated list going.
