My borther is an automobile dealer in Riverhead, Long Island, New York. I purchased from him a new 2008 fully loaded, rag top Chrysler Sebring. (Great car - new design!) I wanted the car here by Saturday, March 22nd to surprise my wife for her birthday, and I wanted the car to be in an enclosed carrier. Before calling Specialty Mobile (second on the ratings list), I did what most people would do; that is, I called the first company on the list. What a shock. They gave me a price when I entered the information on their website. Then, when I called them, they gave me a higher price. I finally settled on a price with them for an enclosed carrier, and agreed on approximate pick-up and delivery time. Then, two days later they called and said they did not have a driver because none of the drivers wanted to travel to eastern Long Island. When I asked why the lady became insolent and said their drivers "hated" to go to Long Island because of the traffic. I voiced my displeasure realizing this #1 transport company probably just cost me a surprise for my wife's birthday. They couldn't wait to get off the phone with me. Terrible.
SO NOW THE GOOD NEWS! I called the second company on the list (They should be #1) SPECIALTY MOBILE..
Corry at Specialty Mobile was my first contact. He was honest and told me he could not guarantee delivery by my wife's birthday, but he would do his best to get it here by then. All I can tell you is that they were GREAT! They gave me a fair price, kept me advised of the status during the trip, and believe it or not, delivered the car early Saturday evening - ON MY WIFE'S BIRTHDAY. The driver, Jason, kept me fully advised of the status, for two days before he arrived, and gave me an hour by hour status report as he came closer to our home in Dallas. When he arrived, he was cordial and friendly. Before taking my wife's new car out of the truck, he went in and removed a plastic sheath he had used to protect her vehicle, and the others, during the trip. If you want to move a vehicle across the country, or anywhere else in the country, call Specialty Mobile and ask for Corry or anyone else who answers the phone. They are all GREAT and you will be glad you did! Ted C.
