I purchased an FJ40 Land Cruiser from ebay not too long ago. Right away I started doing research looking for a reputable company to move it from TN to FL. I was really worried after reading some of the horror stories presented here and at other sites, because there seem to be so many fly by night organizations that do vehicle transport. After selecting only a few likely candidates, I requested quotes. There I ran into a problem.

Some of the sites present a dropdown list of vehicle year, make and model. Most didn't go back far enough to reach the year of my vehicle. One didn't list it as an option at all. I believe that when I put in Land Cruiser they assume I meant the newer SUV models which are substantially larger than the old 40 and therefore the quotes were substantially higher. Specialty Mobile Systems has a web site without these limitations, and I believe their staff was more informed about what they were quoting than anybody else. Their estimate was in fact the best one I got. Combined with the excellent reviews I've seen and the very fair price, I decided to let them move my vehicle.

The entire transaction was very painless. Specialty Mobile maintained excellent communication both by email and phone prior to the move. The trucking company they used did as well. I believe they called 3 different times. They arrived within an hour of the projected time. It took about one week from the initial phone call to having the vehicle in my posession. My experience with Specialty Mobile Systems was in all ways outstanding. I would honestly recommend them to anybody considering a vehicle move.
