No Pick-up yet

Unfortunately I placed an order with Silva before checking this site. On 03/25/05 I was told my vehicle would be scheduled for pick-up within 2-5 days. Each time I have called I have only received a canned reply of “we are working on it and calling the drivers”. My car is still not scheduled for pick up, and yesterday I was told they HOPE it will be this week. To their credit, they are not breaking any promises since they will not promise anything. I think is what bothers me the most, I do not feel like this company cares (at least not after they received my deposit).
A word of CAUTION, Silva does not own trucks, they are a broker. I should have educated myself before using a broker; they are at the mercy of the drivers. For my route, using a company with its own equipment would have only been about $100.00 more. If you are looking for auto transportation and are under time restraints, DO NOT use a broker. My guess is that they tell everyone that pick-ups will be made within 2-5 business days. That is not a guarantee, they do not guarantee anything. The only item close to any type of guaranteed commitment is that if your car is not SCHEDULED for pick up within 30 days, you can get your 200.00 deposit back. If you try to cancel before you will only get 100.00, must be to cover all the “phone calls” they make (that so far, for me, have resulted in nothing).
This car transaction was through Ebay, I will be sure to let future ebay-ers know that Silva is NOT the company to use if they are looking for reliability and timeliness.

We are very surprised that Ms. Fraser did not know we are BROKERS, as our website, contract and order form all state that Silva Auto Transport is a Transport BROKER. In no way did we ever mislead Ms. Fraser in thinking we were a transport carrier. She was given an estimated time frame for pickup/delivery and informed that the time frame was only an estimate and that there was no guarantee. All of this information was given to her both VERBALLY and in a WRITTEN shipping agreement of which was signed and agreed upon placing her order. Should she have had any questions or concerns of us being a broker or of the estimated time frames she was given they should have been brought up PRIOR to the order being placed. We apologize for the misunderstandings and just wanted to note that her vehicle has been assigned to a carrier and will soon be on its way. Thank you, Silva Auto Transport
