Ship a car direct was great at finding a reputable carrier for our load who delivered on time and with great care. Overall very happy.
However, two items to call out for others:
1. the price was $200-300 higher than initially quoted, but that is how the on demand carrier market works. The rates are hard to predict till a week or so before, but i still expected it to be not that much higher. I was crunched for time and didn’t want to wait for them to find another carrier. I wish they did more grunt work to find more than more carrier to pick from in a reasonable time frame (so my car could be picked up within 3 days of the first available pick up).
2. The communication was either mostly automated or slow and it was hard to get hold of the sales team promptly. Took multiple follow ups to get a response to calls or text. Also, the dispatch and sales team don’t work weekends or holidays- so just a word of caution if you pick falls on a Monday or during a federal holiday, things may be slower or less responsive.
