When embarking on my recent cross-country move, I researched a ton of car shipping companies before settling on Ship a Car Direct. I realized the companies are all brokers who are working to place you with more or less the same pool of drivers, which means there's limitations on how much they can promise you and how different/similar they all are. I chose Ship a Car Direct for a few reasons - first, they could work with drivers to guarantee drop-off AFTER a certain date (key because I did not want my car to arrive in my new city before I did!), second, they had one of the most competitive quotes, and third, the broker I worked with, Jennifer, did a good job explaining the process and didn't make any promises I knew she couldn't keep. Based on my research, I was prepared that the final cost might be a bit more than the initial quote, and sure enough it was, but I really appreciated that Jennifer reduced her own broker fee so that my total cost was only 10% more than the initial quote (rather than almost 20% more). I was a bit disappointed that my car was not picked up until the day before my own departure, but Jennifer had prepared me for this possibility so I was not alarmed. The driver was excellent - communicated with me promptly, arrived where and when he said he would, and delivered my car without any damage.
