This was my first time transporting a vehicle. It was NOT a pleasant experience. From the time I entered information online, I immediately received numerous phone calls, text messages and emails. Quotes ranged from $500 - $1500 - quite a wide window. And those annoying phone calls, texts and emails never stopped.

I began my research by finding ratings on the Better Business Bureau. I began calling only those that had A ratings. These ratings are for the brokers, not the actual carrier. Those phone calls led me to believe this may be the sleaziest industry on the planet! Every broker I talked to sounded like a NY mobster. They immediately began by telling me (in a very aggressive manner) 'how this industry works' and how any other brokers I talked with are lying and are 'ripping me off'. This unprofessional behavior led me to believe no one out there was worthy of my business. Then I contacted consumer affairs and they listed the top two brokers one of which was Ship a Car Direct. After receiving an online quote, I then visited their website which was VERY customer-friendly. I watched all the videos to learn more about them and the process. This was extremely helpful and I began to feel more comfortable. My phone call to them was equally helpful. The representative (John) was kind, considerate, listened to my concerns, answered all of my questions and was not aggressive or pushy in any way. He also explained (which is also information covered in the online videos) that there is no 'up front' deposit- you are only charged after a carrier has been assigned (which is NOT the case with other brokers). Communication throughout the process was beyond EXCELLENT with helpful emails and a 24/7 phone number. Another very attractive component is that Ship a Car Direct uses only very selected carriers that meet a very high standard. And I can tell you, the carrier that transported my car was the NICEST GUY EVER! So I highly recommend Ship a Car Direct and will only deal with them in the future.
