I have never shipped a car before, so this was my first experience. My car was transported from Florida to Ohio safely and in a reasonable time period. Ship A Car Direct gave me an estimated pick up date and the car was picked up 5 days after the original estimated pick up date because apparently the carrier had to be changed. The explanation I was given was that the original carrier wanted to be paid up front and that is not how Ship a Car Direct operates. I was told that I could either wait for my transport to be reassigned with no guarantee of how long it would take or I could pay a $50 extra fee to have it assigned by the end of the day. I opted to pay the fee because I did not know if it would take 1 or 10 days to have my transport reassigned to a new carrier. It was reassigned by the end of that day. After it actually was picked up the transport was very timely. The car arrived with no damage and the transporters dropped it off right at my front door. The driver was very friendly and overall my experience was good with Ship a Car Direct. They have a customer service number and the representative was able to give me information as to why my original estimated pick up date had to be changed etc. I understand that estimate means estimate and the dates are not set in stone, but I did not understand was why I would need to pay an extra $50 so that my transport would be scheduled in a more timely manor. I would use this company again to ship a car in the future and I would recommend it to others.
