I've had my car transported from East Coast to West Coast, this would be my 3rd time now. The first two times, and never knowing what to expect, left me feeling good and comfortable with doing this. Now, that I know, this last time, Left me never ever wanting to do this ever ever again. I should have gone with my first instinct, (just drive). I did my due deligence, and researched several different carriers, and this one, had a rating of A- through the BBB. Okay, no worries right? WRONG! I knew I was in trouble, when the carrier called a day later and late in the night the next day asking ME for directions to pickup MY car. What? Shouldn't they already know this? There was also a language barrier. I couldn't understand a single word that was coming out of his mouth. My first impression, has this guy been drinking? And this guy was picking up my car?OMG! Thoughts of panic and fear I would never see my car again. Paying all this money. Gone in 60 seconds!! God, help me.
When he finally did make it in town, he really couldn't make it to where I actually lived. I had to go to him. At that time, it was dark, and raining. Nice, huh? Crazy!Where he was, wasn't the best location. On a narrow dark road with traffic. At that point I was in a nightmare, thank you very much.
What broke the camels back, was the fact he had ME drive MY car up on the rack! I refused a couple times, but he was insistent. So, not to waste anymore time, and not being nervous, no, none the less, I did it. Stupid, I know.
Again thinking, I'm never going to see my car again. As I left him once my car was secure, I took stock in knowing my car was in good company by looking at the cars already loaded. BMW, Mercedes, Honda, Acura, etc.
Long story short, it was such a relief to get my car 4 days later, but again, this service was NOT door to door as indicated. The dispatcher and carrier, a BIG language barrier. Communications were null & void, which is never a good thing. NOT a great experience I want to repeat anytime soon.
So, with that, live and learn.
