New Jersey to St Louis, Missouri - Ford Explorer
I was happy with "Safe-Direct Car Shipping's" sales person (Chris) who was helpful with no excessive sales pitch. They contacted a carrier "GS Carrier LLC" to move the vehicle.
With 30 minutes notice my Ford Explorer was picked up by the carrier "GS Carrier LLC". The Transport truck had a transmission break down midway so instead of the 3 days that the driver told me that it would take, it took 17 days. I have no problem with this. It's just bad luck.
HOWEVER it says on Safe Direct's web site "DOOR TO DOOR AUTO TRANSPORT SERVICE"
On pickup - The driver called and asked to pick up my vehicle at the entrance of my development because he did not want to enter a development which has no dead end, a 28" wide roadway, and no cars parked on the street. All this is visible from where he was parked. I happened to live near the entrance of the development so no big deal.
On Delivery - On 2 hours notice and at 6:30 on a dark November Friday night the driver had his wife pick my son up at his apartment and drop him off at their home (3 miles away) to pay the balance of the bill in cash and pick up my vehicle somewhere in St Louis. My son has told me that the area around his apartment is very accessible even for a large truck.
DOOR to DOOR depends on who the trucker is or may mean nothing at all.
