Long story, but relevant I promise: As most folks know, the transporter (driver and their dispatcher and other support people) are not employees of Red Carpet, which is basically a broker. That being said...

I made arrangements with the driver to have my neighbor receive my car upon delivery since I would not be in town yet. He said that was fine and told me where he would like to meet her to drop the car off. While the car was in transit, I contacted my neighbor to confirm her availability and found out one of her relatives had been diagnosed with cancer and that she was going to be taking care of that relative and not available. I contacted another friend in town and made appropriate arrangements with him to receive the car. Here's where it gets interesting:

I contacted the driver and his dispatcher via text and voice with the revised contact info and recommended location (convenient to my friend). The new drop off location was actually more accessible, being a shopping center directly on a 4-lane highway just 4 miles off a major interstate highway. The driver/dispatcher agreed and thanked me, but apparently neither made the appropriate adjustments in their route. The next day I received a series of calls from both the driver and dispatcher harassing me and demanding an additional $100 because of the new location. This was quite disturbing, and I was concerned that my friend receiving the car would also be harassed and shaken down for money. I contacted Tamara and explained the situation. About 15 minutes later, the dispatcher called me back, apologized for the misunderstanding, and told me that no more money was required and there would be no issues on delivery.

Everything worked out and my friend indeed had no problems with the driver. The car was in good condition and we had no further issues. Thanks to Tamara for working things out, but I hope that Red Carpet will not use that transporter in the future.

Tamara Saunders, tamara@redcarpetautotransport.com, (480)478-0592 Steve, Thank you for the review. I am glad things worked out with the driver, though there was a miscommunication between the dispatcher and driver and I appreciated your patience. We have not used the carrier since that incident. Tamara
