doubled my original quote and damaged my belongings

I was put in touch with Professional Moving Solutions through Movers.com. I was moving approximately one mile to my new home with a two bedroom house. Jason emailed me a quote of $324.00 (not bad right). They were the lowest quote so I went with them. Shame on me for not checking the reviews, it wont happen again. Several times I was told by Jason to “read the contract.” Interpretation….bend over cause this is going to hurt.
So the movers arrive late. The foreman demands that I quickly sign several forms before they will even get started. Come to find out if the customer doesn’t sign these forms the workers don’t get paid. After being pressured to sign the forms I get the actual price of the move after I get hammered with all the packing material that I had to buy. Seriously I had to buy their material before that would load my stuff. ($662.85 was my total charges). Double the original quote.

Once they load all of your stuff with their expert packing job…that last part was a joke, they hold your stuff hostage refusing to unload it at the new destination until they receive their payment in full. I go get a cashiers check for $573.85 and pay them so they will get back to work.

So I figured sense I just purchased $160.00 in packing material and the EXPERT PACKERS carefully wrapped my furniture my stuff would not get broke right? WRONG! The damaged the floor of my old house and the door frames. They damaged my dresser, night stand, and the walls to my new house. I leave to go back to the old house to get another load (that they didn’t take). While I’m gone the movers hustle my wife to sign the contract before I can even inspect the furniture for damages. They are gone when I return home to find the damages.

So I file a claim for reimbursement in October. You are instructed not to call because it will delay your claim. Three months go by….nothing. I email them ….nothing. I call…refuse to call me back ..again nothing. My wife contacts the Better Business Bureau. Now we get a call that they had lost my claim but suddenly found it and are feverishly working to let me know what they are going to do. Well now it’s February and I still have not got an email, letter or the common courtesy of a reach around.

If you are considering them DON’T.
