Don’t let the low prices and catchy ads fool you. P.E.A.T. lacks communication, professionalism and a proper business ethic to have claimed such a “reputable” experience. Do yourself a favor and stay clear away. Why you may ask? Read below.
I required transport from Wisconsin to California. Immediately, a P.E.A.T. representative, Charlie, contacted me. Everything went downhill once I signed on the dotted line. His communication stopped. After numerous attempts via email and phone calls, I finally got on the phone with Jessica who later handled my order. Immediately she gave me several false pick up dates and times which in turn, cost the seller money because she had to take time off work to wait for the driver.
“The driver is on his way” – Day 1
“The driver is in route. He’ll be there at 7-9pm” – Day 2
“The driver will be there this afternoon” – Day 3
On the fourth day, I had no choice but to complain.
Me: How do you explain that the driver confirmed to dispatch that he is in route and never shows up?
Jessica: Drivers have a tendency to flake. Also, your car was too up north of Wisconsin that it was not in regular route.
Just this conversation alone explains the incompetence of P.E.A.T. How can you quote me for a location that you are not even sure a driver will take? Albeit, I was in it for a few weeks now so I mind as well make the best of it and convinced the seller to meet the driver at a more populated city (an hour drive away from the specified pick up on the contract). Once again, she gave me another false date and time.
Even with meet up accommodations, they still cannot get a driver to pick up the car. Fed up, I requested a FULL refund and she has the audacity to enact a $50 service fee due to cancellation. The car was still in Wisconsin for 3 weeks with no signs of a reliable pick up date and time. Secondly, I was placed on hold much longer than I was able to talk to a live representative. (On average, I was on hold for over 15 minutes for a 3 minute phone call. They will do everything to get you off the line) Third, there was no follow up whatsoever. I racked up a huge bill for long distance calls and all I heard was the same tired track that looped again and again. On one instance, I was place on hold for so long, the machine hung up on me. After my last threat that I will do whatever it takes to get my money back, she insisted that a FULL refund will be granted and should clear within 7 business days. Naïve, I waited and to my dismay, nothing. I had my credit card company issue a chargeback on these thieves. It is still in progress as I type this review.
Do yourself a favor and learn from my valuable lesson. P.E.A.T. is a no good company who cares nothing about their customers. All they did for me was took my time, my money and in turn, gave me nothing but grief, runarounds and false promises. I read a review somewhere that it got so bad, they changed their company’s name. Check out their BBB score before working with them. Usually I wouldn’t care so much about $50 but I will never let the likes of these people get even a penny from me. They claim to be so professional with their fancy website and 800 number, you’ll expect their emails to have their website’s domain but instead, they use Google Mail as their business communication. STAY AWAY!
