My husband and I purchased a Volvo V70 T5 back in December 2008. We live in Connecticut and the car was in Ohio. I was prepared to fly to Ohio and drive the car home, when we decided to look into having the car shipped to us. We received quotes from several companies, and Phoenix Auto Transport offered us the best price. I did not want to hire a transort company based on price alone, so I spoke with a number of different companies. After speaking with Jim at Phoenix, I felt the most comfortable with choosing Phoenix- -and they happened to have the best price. I faxed the shipment contract to Jim on Tue 12/9/08. We were assigned a carrier the next day. The car was picked up on Thur 12/11/08, and I had the car in my driveway by 7:15 am on Sat 12/13/08. I was told that we would have the car sometime on Sat., and honestly I was expecting it later in the day or even on Sunday since there was a snow storm on Friday. So, even with poor weather conditions, the car arrived on time or actually even early. The driver, Mike R., was great. He called us from the road the day before to let us know when to expect the delivery. He also called us when he was on his way to our house Sat morning. He arrived exactly when he said he would. After the car was unloaded, he carefully showed me all the little dings and scratches that he had noted at the time the car was picked up. Other than the car being dirty from traveling in a snowstorm, there was no other damage. I am so glad we entrusted Phoenix Auto Transport to ship the car to us. I think about all the time and money I saved by having them transport the car. I can't believe I actually considered flying to Ohio and then making the drive back- -especially since I would have been driving through the mountains in PA during a snowstorm. I've done that before and don't wish to repeat that experience! Thank you Jim at Phoenix and thank you Mike R.!!! If we ever have to ship a car again, we'll definately choose Phoenix Auto Transport, and we will be sure to ask for Mike R.
