I have never shipped a vehicle before. Finding a company was a bit overwhelming. But in the end choosing Olson was a good move. Peggy has good communication, reliable, honest, and trustworthy.
Things newbies should know.
-Contact individual places, don't fill out a blank request for a generic quote from 500 places, you will be bombarded with emails and phone calls and you will get so CONFUSED.
-Call the places, I found one who had great reviews, I submitted order and even called but never heard back. If they can't call you back that should be a sign.
-Check with the better business bureau....bbb.org If they are not rated or accredited I eliminated them. I had one email me saying they were and then when I checked they were not even listed with bbb
-You can also check their driving history and info on the .safer.fmcsa.dot.gov/CompanySnapshot.aspx webpage
-Do your homework, don't pay upfront. A small deposit once transportation is arranged and finalized with the carrier. it was $100 for me at olson (which was basically there fee which is reasonable)
-even though you submit an order it can take a few days to find someone to accept the route if olson's truck is not doing the hauling (they are also a broker)

I went with Olson b/c they were BBB accredited, owned a transport truck themselves, friendly, returned my calls.

The car was being picked up from the middle of Iowa about an hour and a half from a main interstate that truckers take, so Peggy couldn't find someone to go to that town in Iowa. She did find someone who would accept the original quote of $800 and met the car about an hour from it's requested pick up town which I completely understand. You have to meet the trucker in a parking lot normally since the truck is so big so don't expect that it will just pull up to your front door because odds are it won't but what is important to me is that the whole process went fine which it did.

The driver was friendly, and did a good job. Reminder you have to pay COD when the car arrives. Car was fine other than dirty from the long haul but that is to be expected.
