On November 30 2011 I recieved a contract (#15742-XI) with NWT to deliver my 1953 Ford pickup to the Barrett Jackson auction in Scottsdale AZ in January 2012 from my place of business in Minnesota City MN. The truck was supposed to be delivered the week prior to the auction. After having faxed in the contract with my credit card information to cover the deposit, (the balance was to be paid in cash on pickup) I made the mistake in thinking that these people would do what they agreed to. About a week before the scheduled pickup, I contacted them to make sure all was well. I was told that they were working on a truck and would contact me with details. After several days I called again and was told they were having trouble placing the load. Then the owner Steve was concacted and he told me the same thing. He asked me if it had to be there for this auction or if I could take it to a later one. I told him that I had a signed contract with BJ and if my truck did not show then I would loose my entry fee and be charge the comission from the estimated sale price, plus I had non refundable air flights booked, so this was not an option. He finally just left me hanging in the wind. I could not find another transport in the short time left and had to resort to hauling the truck on a borrowed trailer with my own work truck. I had to pay an employee to drive for me, use my own fuel and pay for repairs that occurred during the trip. This cost me $2500 more than the agreed to contract. No apology or compensation has ever been offered.
