Unfortunately hiring Nationwide was the worst decision I could have made. They hired Zen Auto Transport to transport my car from New York to Washington state. The contract stated that Nationwide would take care of new damages. When my car arrived, it was totaled, and I clearly marked this on the Bill of Lading. I worked with Karen Burgoyne at Nationwide to deal with this claim. At first she pretended to help me and collected my claim information, but then I found out that the email she sent information to at Zen was a fake email. Later I confronted her over the phone. She admitted that she sent the claim information to a fake email address. Then she said that Nationwide always, as a policy, instructs the trucks they hire to swap out the Bill of Ladings when serious damage is incurred. She then laughed at me and said that I had no legal recourse against the company because they always switch out the Bill of Lading so you can't prove new damage, and that Nationwide has done this hundreds of times.
