I contracted with NRS (Scott) to move my daughters one-bedroom apartment from New Orleans to Texas. My daughter fell ill and I had to withdraw her from Tulane.

I was promised a pack and load date of 3/16-3/17 so I made flight and hotel for Texas/New Orleans/Texas accordingly. No one showed up 3/16 despite many calls to NRS during the days leading up to the move. Finally on 3/17 I found out that the mover could not be located and dispatch was going to try and find someone else to move her. This was about 1:00pm.

No movers showed up by 5:00pm and dispatch was closed. No one evidently cared by this time. I went back to the hotel prepared to try and find a local mover. At 7:30pm I received a call from a man saying he was supposed to do my move and could meet me at my daughters apartment in the next few hours.

Somehow I did not feel comfortable meeting strange men, in a strange city at 8 or 9 at night and spend the next 3 or 4 hours PACKING and then moving her stuff. I don't think that is unreasonable.

I told the mover that it was kind of late for this and he hung up.

I have disputed the deposit with AMEX. So far, NRS has lied to the BBB but I provided them with cell phone records to show that the mover called at 7:21pm. I was scheduled to fly out the next day so had to change plans while I scrambled to find a local mover (which is another disaster story that the Jefferson Parrish DA, Economic Crimes Unit is working on).
