Condition of Vehicle when Delivered

My SUV was picked up promptly in Melbourne Florida by a very knowledgeable driver. He was very professional and thorough with his pre-inspection of the vehicle. He was ontime and provided all required paperwork needed. I was very relieved when we sent our vehicle off for Washington. We were contacted the following weekend that our vehicle had arrived to the West Coast and would be available for pickup the next Monday morning. The driver was a different individual and was not as professional as the first. He asked that we meet at a Truck Stop off of I5, south of Olympia. When we arrived, it was extremely busy and very congested. The driver showed an hour late and pulled in, blocking the thoroughfare of the large trucks and customer traffic trying to enter/exit the area. My vehicle and another were removed from the open carrier and the driver drove both vehicles recklessly off of the truck, causing near collision with oncoming traffic. The driver was being yelled at by other truckers while he was taking money and having us sign for our vehicles. He didn't offer a walk around of the vehicle or anything. Once I started my vehicle, my gas tank was empty, empty, gas light on. I left the vehicle with a half a tank of gas and my vehicle had an additional 116 miles on it. It was extremely filthy inside. I noticed that other vehicles had open windows and am certain mine was open too during transport. My vehicle was used outside of the transport for personal use. It was the last vehicle in the back of the truck. The battery terminals were not connected properly and looked as if my vehicle was used to jump other vehicles. My husband contacted the Portland dispatch and the owner/manager claims he did not tolerate this type of business, all of the issues are not normal practice and that the driver was to be fired immediately. I do hope for other customers that this type of business in not tolerated. The owner/manager offered to reimburse us for cleaning expenses and service if needed. We will be doing that. Please be very thorough when you receipt for your vehicle.
