Good price, but car dirty, possibly scraped by carrier

I used Montway because of the waiting period through the direct carriers (Reliable, Horseless, Intercity, Passport) was so long at about 6-8 weeks before pickup and I wanted to get a few weeks of driving in before the cold weather and snow hit my area. Plus they offered to transport it at about 75% of the cost of the cheapest direct carrier. I should've just been patient. Car was garage kept and cleaned prior to pickup from a dealership that performed some maintenance and a PPI. When the driver was delivering the car he was smoking while removing the tie-downs - this irked me somewhat as one, it's unprofessional and two, I knew my car was going to stink. I don't think waiting 30 minutes until after the car was delivered would be a lot to ask. I should state though the driver was friendly - but honestly I'd rather have a cold professional than a friendly amateur. Once the car was backed out of the trailer and he pulled it in front of my house I saw how dirty it was - it was covered with dirty/sand (even on the top of the hood, roof, rear hatch). This was odd as I knew it had been cleaned and I had it transported enclosed specifically so it wouldn't be exposed to the elements or dirty during transport. I also noticed a scrape near the gas gap, though minor that neither the owner nor the dealership who did the PPI/maintenance had seen. I knew the car had a minor scrape on the passenger wheel well as well as some minor patched chips in the windshield, but not this. However, because the driver failed to leave a BoL with the dealership during pickup I have no way to know whether it happened during transport or not. So, to summarize: + Friendly driver + About 25% cheaper than a direct carrier - Car was dirty - Car smelled like smoke - No BoL left with dealer I'd say if you've got a cheaper car or car you don't care too much about the condition of you can use Montway. But if you want your car delivered by a guaranteed professional and in a manner you know will leave the car in the exact same condition it was picked up in - wait for a spot on a direct carrier. I will never use Montway again for delivery of a nice vehicle though.
