This is the second time that we have used Montway. My fiance used them about 6 months ago when he was moving from Buffalo to San Diego. I was moving my car from the Philly area to San Diego. The overall experience was really great. Here are my reasons for enjoying this experience:

1.) Instant AND accurate quote online (no phone call needed). I inquired with about 7 other companies. Montway was the cheapest by at least $100.

2.) Whole process was laid out very clearly and was organized very well from the moment I booked them. a.) Received confirmation email b.) received an email informing me of the exact day the car was going to be picked up two days before they came c.) estimated delivery date was spot on d.) got a phone call two days before car was dropped off and between which hours (3 hr window) e.) driver called the morning of when he had arrived (although they did originally say he was going to call an hour ahead)

3.) I physically moved before they came so I had my dad be the contact person for the pick-up. They tell you up front the person at pick-up does not have to be you.

4.) Pride Auto Transport was the company that actually picked up my car and they were really great too.

5.) I was able to reach a customer service rep every time I called with any questions.

Other thoughts:
1.) Wish I had the ability to put things inside the car (not just in the trunk). I also didn't see where rules about this were on the website. I had to call and ask. The limit is up to 100 lb in the trunk.

2.) While I understand Montway is the middle-man in these transactions, it would be useful if the companies they work with actually called an hour or two ahead like they said they would instead of just when they've gotten there. But like I said, they do tell you via email which day and between which hours.

3.) The car is pretty dirty from the cross-country move, so if you care about that kind of thing I would suggest transporting it enclosed. The dirt's nothing a car wash or heavy rain can't handle.

4.) These 18-wheelers can't get into the majority of residential areas, so they have to park at the closest place that allows them. My driver was parked off the side of a road. It wasn't difficult or dangerous to get there, but I wonder if there is any other place they can park. It would have given me piece of mind to know "on X day your car will be dropped off at the parking lot of X shopping center".

Finding a company you trust your vehicle to for about a week to transport it across the country is nothing but stressful. But Montway has been great and has met our expectations. Price and being able to trust the company were our two biggest criteria. They have satisfied both. I am getting a giftcard for posting this review, but you can look for this review on other websites as well. I swear this is my honest opinion of my experience. We went with them twice and if the price is right we'll go with them if we move back out East.
