My experience with Theo was positive. I had 2 shipments. I will post this same review for both. Both estimates were lower than what I actually paid. The first one was about 35% more. The second was about 30% more but with an important change that I’ll note below.. If you have more time you can typically get a better rate. Mikway will take whatever a carrier is willing to bid on it and mark it up. So if you have a less traveled route, there might not be as much competition so you might spend more than originally quoted. I had this same situation when I went through the large self service shipping portals. They will quote you one thing and at the last minute ask for more money, so I expected this going in and so should you. My first route was not a common route and I knew that. I still wanted to see how close they would get to what someone promised me on the shipping portal where I listed the bike. Even with their commission they were about $75 more than what someone on the portal had offered. I still went with Theo as he seamed very genuine and assured me it would be fine. We all know talk is cheap but I gave them a try. This bike was shipped from TN to IN. Pickup went well and was pretty much on time. The delivery slipped quite a bit. It was originally planned to be on Saturday and the carrier had a delivery issue in another city and it made it to the final destination on Sunday. Fortunately, the shop receiving the bike could come in and meet the driver. Most importantly the bike arrived in excellent condition. So did it go as good as I hoped, no. It was good enough as the bike got there safely, and the shop was able to meet the driver. The second shipment was from IN to TX with another motorcycle. This route was a little bit better but still not a major highway corridor. Originally I was fine with open transport. This is substantially cheaper than enclosed. Depending on how far I plan to ship, how expensive the bike is, and how big it is, typically drives my decision whether to go enclosed or open. In this case, even though I was fine with open, Theo was able to get me enclosed for 30% more. So I was more than fine with the slight price increase. The bike arrived about 12 hours late so I can’t complain too much. Most importantly, the bike arrived in excellent condition. Throughout this Theo was keeping in touch with the carriers, informing me about the progress, and when in the bidding process, worked to keep the costs down. Was it worth using Theo Williams? Overall, I’d say yes. I definitely could have done the first move cheaper but he dealt with most of the phone calls and issues and time is money it was still worth it. On the second shipment, it absolutely was worth it. Both shipments had hiccups that Theo addressed that I would have had to waste my time resolving. I’d give him 4 stars on the first shipment and 5 stars on the second.
