I would recommend this company to anyone needing to have an automobile transported. Jim Gozde, our broker, was very polite, informative and helpful. He gave me all the information I needed to know without being pushy and overbearing.

He was also able to find a driver to transport our auto from the Orlando area to the Mississippi Gulf Coast very quickly. We had already had one bad experience a couple of years ago when we had to have our auto shipped from California to Mississippi, so I was skeptical of using another auto transportation company.

Anyone shipping an auto should know the broker is not the actual person who will be shipping the vehicle. Their job is to place a "bid" on your behalf to trucking companies who specialize in transporting automobiles. Your bid is posted on a national message board. If the truckers think the price quoted is too low, no one is going to pick up your vehicle and you'll be waiting for an auto transport that may never come. Not only did the broker we used in California neglect to explain this to us, they took a large deposit without securing a truck first. We finally found an auto transport at the last minute from another broker, but had a hard time getting our deposit back from the original company.

Jim was very informative about market prices and what fees truck drivers are asking for at certain times of the year, but it's also good to do your own research on things such as the cost of diesel fuel, taxes and tolls, because these are the things the truck driver is going to be factoring in when setting a bidding price. If you're in California and need your vehicle transported to Florida, chances are, no truck driver is going to transport your auto for $300 ( and that's after the broker's fees ), because they simply can't afford to move the vehicle at that price. That's the lesson we learned the hard way. But if you do your research before hand, you can settle on a price that's both fair to you and the driver.

Mercury Auto only takes a deposit from you when they secure a truck for your vehicle. Also, with any auto transport company, the broker should be keeping in contact with you in case a truck driver sends a counter-offer; Jim kept in constant contact with me to make sure I was satisfied and kept in the loop, since we had a specific set of dates of when the auto could be picked up and delivered.

I entered into a formal agreement with Mercury Auto on a Friday. On Monday, Jim called to inform me he had found a driver willing to transport the auto at a decent price. Our auto was picked up on a Tuesday evening and was delivered to my Mother's house in Mississippi by 8 am on Thursday morning. C&D Trucking, the trucking company Jim contracted to help us was excellent. The drivers were very professional, took excellent care of the jeep and provided actual door-to-door service.

I was satisfied with every aspect of the service provided by Mercury Auto Transport. Everything about this experience was positive.
