After 7 days with another broker with nothing scheduled I called Mercury Transport. Jim Gozde answered the phone- - no voice mail!! Told him the pickup location and delivery location. I live in a remote northern Michigan town. Jim explained that my remote location makes it difficult to find a truck. I am way off the beaten path. He suggested a city downstate that would make it easier to find a truck. I suggested a Detroit area city where my son lives. Our first conversation was 4:30 tuesday afternoon. 10:00 next morning he had a truck ready to schedule. My car was picked up at 7:30 that evening and delivered to me at 10:00 AM the next morning. 41 1/2 hours from first conversation with Jim Gozde to delivery to me!
I "sweetened the pot" for the driver and had to go a distance to get the car home. BUT JIM GOT MY CAR TO ME! PREFERRED TRUCKING stayed in phone contact with me and arrived earlier than expected. No damage to my1965 AMC Ambassador Convertible! Andre and Tonya did what they promised.
The other broker never explained the delivery location problem or made any suggestions on how to make it easier to find a truck.
