Just pay highest bidder and get it out of the way

I wanted my son's car picked up anywhere from three days prior up until 8/9 because he was flying out on the 10th. On the 7th I was told (after finally calling shipper when I had heard nothing) it was costing $200 more to be picked up on the 9th. No reason given why it could not have been picked up on 7th or 8th. Then, on critical 8th in PM I called trucking company since I had heard nothing again and was told truck would get there on the 11th. So I called Mercury who was unaware of the issue and after another round of exchanges with Cory, I was told he could "pull strings" and get it done on the 9th, the date set up two weeks ago, but that it would cost another $200. Moral of the story, drive it yourself. Or get ready to shell out about 40% more than your quote. Or just go with high bidded and cut out the shenanigans. It seems to be an industry without concern for customers.

Thanks for your feedback Sam. We have a lot of great reviews but it is the reviews like these that show we are human and give us an opportunity to address publicly what we go over with each of our clients. You are absolutely right, this is a bidding system and sometimes trying to save too much money on a route can lead to pickup dates and other things not working out as we all would hope. We don't agree that anyone needs the highest bid but, trying to offer way too little of a price can have this effect. We post all this information on our website, all our emails and let our customers know how the system works when we speak with them. We sincerely apologize for your inconvenience and we will speak with Cory and see where any miscommunication could have broke down, as most people can see this does not happen very often with us and we want to keep it that way. We have not charged you one cent and never charge any customer if the job is not done. We wish you well and a safe trip.
