My first time shipping a car interstate which came with the associated anxiety and nervousness. Car was getting shipped from TX to MA. After reading the reviews, I chose M&M. My only contact with them was through the online portal or their rep Pamela through email. (FWIW: Pamela deserves 7 stars for her customer service. She has the patience of a saint and must have answered 20-30 questions I kept on asking her about the whole process).
Receiving quotes: I got several quotes from providers. Theirs was the middle of the pack. Neither lowest, nor highest. I decided to go with them due to reviews. I asked for quotes for both open and closed carriers and decided to go with the closed one.
After placing the order: They got on to finding a provider. Could not immediately find a provider for closed transportation at the cost they quoted me. Pamela then offered me the choice of open carrier which was a bit higher than the quote they gave for an open one. I agreed to that and they immediately found the provider and emailed me their contact information.
Car pick up: I texted the driver and they kept me informed on the time they will pick up the car. They picked up the car with no problem. The driver also informed me of an expected arrival day.
Constructive Feedback (not criticism): Will be good for the driver or the company to send a confirmation text/email indicating the car has been picked up along with the inspection report they complete at the time of pick up. Another thought is for them to share their location through transit duration so the customer has visibility in where the car is physically at any moment in time.
During transit: The day before the car was supposed to arrive, I texted the driver twice asking for an expected arrival time. No response.
Day of when the car was supposed to arrive: I still did not hear from the driver so contacted Pamela. She made several calls to the company and the driver until she was able to get hold of them and got an answer that the car will be delivered the next day (which was the day it was expected to be delivered per the order). Once again, Pamela answered another 8-10 inquiries from me with patience of a saint.
Actual day of car arrival: Received a call from the driver about an hour and a half before their arrival time. He asked to meet close to my home because there wasn't enough room for his truck. I was able to walk there and meet him. They unloaded the car for me. Did a walk around. Collected the payment (which I made through cashiers check plus some cash tip). The driver also took down my email and sent me the inspection report at the time of pick up.
While there were moments of anxiety, mostly created by me, overall a very smooth process. I will certainly recommend using M&M and am hoping they will incorporate some of the constructive feedback I have provided in their operations.
