After so many horror stories about transport companies, I felt confident that even if there was an issue, Magic Carpet would address it accordingly. After all, Magic Carpet had the most outstanding reviews from any company.
Once I received my quote, it was not only the lowest priced, but I was also comfortable with the level of customer service. I left my deposit right away. About one week out from my pick-up date, I received another quote which was about $200 more. When I asked about the significant increase it was due to the carrier increasing fees, etc. I understand, but that is NOT MY PROBLEM. Naturally I was upset. I could have easily selected another carrier, but due to short window rates were extremely high. I weighed my options and decided to be that "customer" and speak the manager. Apparently, whoever answers the phone is the "manager" and when a customer is "too hot to handle" they pass it off to the next person and round and round we go. At the end they decided to take $110 off the broker fee - which they stressed this is their own commission. Sorry for the lack of enthusiasm, but you did not do me a favor. Your relationship with your carriers is not my problem. Your customers shouldn't have to absorb the costs of poor mismanagement on your end.
On a positive note, the truck driver who delivered my car was the saving grace. If this review was about him, it would be 10 stars.
