Disappointed with service

I did my research and called Magic Carpet more than one month prior to my move and admittedly, I was initially quoted a low price. After I had failed to hear from anyone two weeks prior to my move date, I called again and was assured that they would find a driver. The first pick-up company allegedly did not read Magic Carpet's notes about my arrival date in California and the car was going to get there before me (a point that I made very clear could not happen because there was no one to accept it). Then, two days ago (1 week before my move) I received a call saying that my car would be picked up the next day by one of their most reliable transport companies. I took the day off work and got my ready to go. When I still had not heard from the driver by the next afternoon, I called him and he said that he had never agreed to pick up my car in NY. So I called Crystal back and she explained that another company was posing as this reliable one and whew, we should be glad that they didn't pick up my car. Shouldn't this be something that Magic Carpet screens for rather than their customers? They were supposedly making phone calls to their dispatcher to find another transport company but I found that communication was lacking so I called again and spoke to Kathy. She suggested that I raise my price which I reluctantly did (over $140 total). After all of this, I just got suspicous and frustrated with this company. I do not feel like they are proactive and I felt like I got screwed over. I called another (more reputable) company and they booked someone immediately the next day. Bottom line--I think the staff at Magic Carpet are friendly but at the end of the day, if my car isn't moving and I'm left in the dark, then it doesn't matter. I was greatly disappointed with Magic Carpet and I would not use them. I am posting this review here because this was an incredibly stressful and anxiety-provoking process for me and I think other consumers should be aware that this company is not 100% reliable.
